Cutting Manager – Factory Operations

Career Opportunity:

MNA Composite is seeking a highly experienced, technical, and leadership-oriented Cutting Manager to head our Factory Cutting Department. The ideal candidate must possess extensive industry experience and hands-on expertise in factory ERP software to manage daily operations, maximize fabric utilization, and ensure a continuous production flow.

Job Location:

• Factory Address: Doshaid Bazar, Ashulia, Savar, Dhaka.

• Workplace Environment: On-site (Full-time factory based).

Key Responsibilities:

• Production Planning & Execution: Plan and execute daily cutting targets based on the master production schedule (MPS) to ensure timely input supply to all sewing lines.

• Inter-Departmental Coordination: Coordinate closely with the Planning, Merchandising, and Sewing teams to ensure smooth fabric booking, accurate line feeding, and on-time production execution.

• ERP Data Management: Regularly update and manage all cutting room data, fabric allocation, and consumption reports in the factory ERP system.

• Fabric Utilization & Saving: Optimize marker efficiency to maximize fabric utilization. Monitor lay length, end-bits, and shrinkage allowances closely to minimize fabric consumption and wastage.

• Quality Assurance: Ensure 100% precision in cutting, bundling, numbering, and tagging. Conduct strict inspections for shading, bowing, skewing, and cutting defects before sending panels to sewing.

• Machinery & CAD Supervision: Oversee the operation of CAD pattern/marker making and cutting room machinery (Auto-cutters, manual cutting machines, spreading machines). Ensure timely maintenance.

• Reconciliation: Conduct fabric booking vs. actual consumption analysis. Generate daily cutting reports, wastage reports, and layout-wise reconciliation summaries via ERP for management.

• Team Leadership: Lead and manage a large team of CAD operators, cutting supervisors, spreaders, and cutters. Maintain strict floor discipline and safety standards.

Job Requirements:

• Education: Graduate from a reputed institution. Candidates with a Textile / Apparel background will get preference.

• Experience: 10 to 12 years of total experience in the RMG sector, with a proven track record as a Cutting Manager in large Knit/Woven composite garments.

• ERP Knowledge (Mandatory): Hands-on experience working with industry-standard ERP systems for fabric tracking, cutting status, and material reconciliation is strictly mandatory.

• Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of CAD software (e.g., Gerber, Lectra, or Optitex), marker planning, fabric relaxation procedures, and multi-size nesting.

• Fabric Knowledge: Deep understanding of fabric shrinkage, shade groups (Lot segregation), width variations, and knit/woven fabric behavior during spreading.

• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage a large workforce, handle floor emergencies, and coordinate smoothly with cross-functional factory teams.

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to handle fabric shortages, layout mismatches, and tight shipment deadlines.
